Medical Recommendations
You are strongly advised to consult with your healthcare provider before booking The Wellness Deck if you suffer heart/circulation conditions, high or low blood pressure, cancer, diabetes or respiratory problems. The sauna and red light therapy are not recommended during pregnancy.
If you are under the weather from a cold, flu or other infection or contagious disease, or have an active skin disease, we ask that you postpone your visit until your symptoms are clear.
Do not use the sauna if you are taking medications that interfere with your body’s ability to regulate temperature or medications that make you sleepy.
Disclaimer
The stove that heats the sauna, and the rocks surrounding the stove, are very hot, so please adhere to the safety protocols posted in the sauna to avoid getting burnt.
Move carefully and slowly inside the sauna, heat can affect your sense of balance, and surfaces may be wet due to steam, with the risk of slipping and falling.
We are not responsible for lost, forgotten, damaged, or stolen personal items on our site.
If we must close The Wellness Deck due to poor weather conditions, we will do our best to reschedule your visit, or provide a full refund.
What Should I Bring?
Swimsuit or something you don’t mind getting wet and/or sweaty
Fluid for keeping hydrated
Slip resistant shoes you don’t mind getting wet, such as water shoes, flip-flops, Tevas
Robe, if you want something other than a towel to cover up
Code of conduct
Wear a bathing suit, or attire you don’t mind getting wet and/or sweaty
Rinse off in the outdoor shower before entering the sauna, per traditional
When enjoying the sauna, please it on one of the towels provided
Please arrive scent-free, including natural scents and essential oils.
Alcohol, drugs, and smoking are not permitted at The Wellness Deck, nor on the premises.
Listen to your body and honor your limits
don’t stay too long in the sauna, take breaks to cool off and hydrate
don’t stay in the cold plunge too long, risking hypothermia
don’t stay in the red light too long, risking skin burns
When using the outdoor shower, be mindful of your water use. We harvest and store all of the water used on premises. If we run out, we have municipal water delivered to us, which is not nearly as delicious and chemical free.
